PROJECT JUSTICE is the non-profit program created and developed by the MAYO LAW CLINIC for the specific purpose of providing indigent and/or otherwise needy or low-income defendants with private legal representation at no cost, or at very little cost, to the defendant.  Thus, rather than utilizing the County public defender, criminal defendants are defended by private defense counsel who, in turn, are paid a prevailing defense fee by means of funds generated through donations and contributions to PROJECT JUSTICE.
